Realizing that we cannot please everyone,
and desiring to please the Lord Jesus Christ first and
foremost, the following is a description of our church and
its principles.
1. We are a Baptist church. We hold to the Biblical
landmarks that Baptists have held since the time when Jesus
Christ founded the first church during His earthly ministry.
2. We are a Bible-believing church. The Scriptures are our
only rule of faith and practice. We believe the King James
Bible to be the preserved Word of God in English, and so it
is the only version used in the preaching and teaching at
our church.
3. We are an independent Baptist church. While we fellowship
with the American Baptist Association (a fellowship of 2000
Baptist churches in America), we are completely autonomous
as a church. No prelate or denomination dictates to our
church. Our only Head and Lawgiver is the Lord Jesus Christ.
In matters concerning the operation of our church, we are
governed by our congregation and led by our Pastor.
4. We are a dependent church. We realize what Jesus meant
when He said, "without me ye can do nothing." We depend on
the Lord for every good thing and every blessing we have,
and we depend on Him for the strength to do His will.
5. We are an evangelistic church. We are engaged in
proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to our area through
preaching and witnessing, and we support missionaries to
take the gospel to places we cannot go.
6. We are a traditional church. We do not follow the fads
and fashions of religion. We do not formulate our ministry
around the latest book written by a popular "Christian"
author, but we formulate our ministry around the Great
Commission which Jesus gave (Matt. 28:18-20). Our music is
comprised of the traditional hymns and gospel songs that are
familiar to God's people. At the same time, we employ modern
means (such as this website) to get the gospel out to as
many people as we can.
7. We are a separated church. Anyone who wants to hear the
gospel is welcomed to attend our services, no matter how
they are living. However, we expect those who hold
membership in our church to walk in a manner worthy of a
Christian profession. We practice church discipline as
commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ so as the maintain the
testimony and credibility of our church before an evil
world. |
